Xiaomi is evolving beyond its roots as a smartphone manufacturer, emerging as a formidable technology powerhouse with aspirations that span various sectors, including household innovations, transportation, and digital services. This strategic transition is guided by Xiaomi’s “Human x Car x Home” initiative, which seeks to create a seamlessly integrated ecosystem that touches on multiple facets of everyday life.

A recent milestone for Xiaomi is its entry into the network-attached storage (NAS) segment with the debut of the Xiaomi Smart Storage device. Offered in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB versions, the device saw impressive demand by securing over 30,000 orders within its first hour of crowdfunding. Beyond mere storage, this device is equipped with capabilities such as multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-assisted photo organization.

The company’s extensive product lineup now goes well beyond smartphones and televisions, encompassing tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, home appliances, smart lighting solutions, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and electric vehicles. Central to this interconnected ecosystem is HyperOS, Xiaomi’s proprietary software platform designed to link devices across both domestic and automotive settings, ensuring a seamless user experience while maintaining affordability and accessibility.

This strategic expansion has translated into robust financial performance. In the first quarter of 2026, Xiaomi reported revenues of 99.1 billion yuan, alongside a net income of 4.72 billion yuan. The company’s financial achievements for the full year of 2025 included a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan, underscoring the success of its diversified business model.

Xiaomi is also making notable strides in the electric vehicle industry, having delivered 600,000 vehicles since entering the market. The company projects that total deliveries will reach 550,000 units by the end of 2026. Through its unique blend of consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric vehicles, Xiaomi is carving out a position as one of the most ambitious and influential technology companies on the global stage.
